Help
redefining SI is what I think needs to happen. I have been thinking about things since reading this site. I have been thinking that I have not SIed vary much in the last 10 years and that inflicting "nondestructive" pain on myself makes me ok and not an SIer. All the years of pain have taken a toll and I do have scars from that and all the piercings I have had. Seems to me that the definitions I have read dismiss a few behaviors like S&M activities and body piercings. I have never done any S&M activities with anybody because that is my private thing but some of my piercings have been done professionally. Even though I did not do them myself I did it for the pain of the needle and healing. I know many just want something cool and endure the pain for it but that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about doing those things as an escape from emotional pain. Any thoughts?
