I've added a new rule.

No suicide notes allowed on the board. An alternative would be the use of the following program: http://www.pcworld.c.../file_desc...id,23183,00.asp . Another would be leaving some information offline, perhaps in a note. If an e-mail is sent through the program you will be e-mailed back. I will wait about a week or so then I will post the note or information.

Also, I read something about someone having faked their suicide attempt. I'm not quite sure what that was about but I'm telling you from here on if you fake your suicide or suicide attempt and its been proven you will be banned. I will not be lenient with that rule.

It seems we need to review this again. *No* suicide notes. If you need people to talk to about *feeling* suicidal, it's different.

This is a very good guideline to have.

Yeah I think that this is a great rule and good reminder because things like that are just ways of seeking attention and there are better ways.

Mobius, just a side note, "Things like that" are NOT always just ways to seek attention, sometimes they are a serious good bye.

But yes, Gabrielle's rule is a good one, because all suicide notes on here do is upset people who have no way of finding out if you followed through or not.

Hiya Gabrielle,

I don`t think many people know the real meaning to being suicidal
(me being one of them).
i say this cos you may me think about it ..

if i was suicidal i think that would leave me a selfish person

(i know my family care about me and it would hurt them if i took my own life)

ok.. so if your in this selfish `mood` cos to me it`s kinda a mood swing being suicidal.i don`t think you would care about other peoples feelings,so you may write a note to tell every one you gonna take your own life.

i don`t really under stand being suicidal, i know the `feeling` but ive never tryed to kill myself.. well i took a od but soon after made myself sick.

do you think it would be a idea to talk about it alil more?

i think i under stand why you don`t want suicid notes (i wouldn`t want them too)
cos it can upset alot of people.

i think it would be a good idea to talk about it...

what do you and other people think?

Thank you for reading

Leon.x

Well what if someone is going to try killing themselves but then change their mind? Its nnot a fake, but they said they would but never did.

The faked suicide attempt was something different. We were all told that this person was dead (not by suicide note).

If your suicical you do care, but you are utterly convinced they would be better off without you. its not true but its what you feel.

I will retype this post somehow I lost my other one. I was trying to say I agre with this post but also want to remind people it is not as black and white as that. I mean if I think something is going to far another may not.
I am not sure what to do with the post that are so close to the line I try to not respond to them if they trigger me to much but not to say it would have the same effect on someone else.
I don't know maybe if there was a place to put thngs like that and only you the writer could read them I don't know. I think at times just getting things down on paper or infront of me helps me a great deal. I know it is a hard one but I support it just the same.

Every one is different,
if your `utterly convinced` what stops you from taking your life?

Because im not suicidal right now. and ive made a promise to a person i care about alot i wont go anywhere.
i have been suicidal, to be honest, i dont really know what stopped me. ive sorta blocked it out my memory. perhaps my religious beliefs scared me about what was waiting for me. i dunno.
i know people who have been convinced everyone would be better off with out them. a women i knew left behind a 3 year old daughter because she thought she'd be better without her.

people are selfish...they dont always do what is best for other people...which is why even though you are utterly convinced that otheres would be better off without you...you decide to live...
sometimes you can talk yourself out of it...
sometimes something just happens which makes you think
sometimes you're just unlucky...
